UNCONSUMED AND MOVED

This is a project of visual research inspired by «leftovers, and waste of fast food. I wanted to use a public cultural reference, an empty and already consumed object not available to sell anymore. To this scenario, I engage the body, my body that will loses his identity and becomes a rejected article.

ALL THOSE PEOPLE WATCHING

©Elodie Nivet
This rope position represents a building or a space that can be habitable. This space offers tree surfaces and in each of them the options of transition, depends of the ground. With this rope installation and highway sound effects, I wanted to recreate a house under, a sort of shelter that is common to find in big cities. For recreating this space I also got interested in hostile architecture, but this part still in work in progress.

As this project stil in a research face, for more information about the format of representation you can contact me by mail: laleshka.salas@gmail.com

U – KUKO

U - KUKO is a character stated in stories and dances of the Peruvian Andean region. This character is mostly found in folkloric festivities where his job is to accompany the crowd. In the Andean Cosmovision this character has the sacred role of maintaining the discipline and order in religius Peregrinations.

However, this Ukuko is out of context and his reactions will not be taken as they are in his homeland. Who is the folkloric character outside of his "story"?

This intervention was first performed in 2 train stations in Bruxelles. Second time with an aerial rope in Recyclart(Bruxelles). The following video is a caption of the performance in Circusbende Festival, Amsterdam 2022.

Duration: Rope performance 10 min

Tightline for Rectangle

Placing a tightrope is dividing the space. I like to work with the concept of body in exposition and the fonction of the circus object into the space.

In this act the rope represents the middle, the line that divides right from left side. I wanted to make a rectangle with the public for making them and me have an interactive exposition where they’re also part of.

The act starts as well with a long indian file where I bring the public to the « representation space » and I make them build the border. Afterwards, I describe my travelings inside the rectangle for create a verbal trace until I arrive to the tightrope. Here, I change the focus is in my body finding the balance while I walk and change positions in the rope.
