Laleshka Salas Salazar is a Peruvian artist based in Brussels whose work exists at the intersection of circus, performance and visual arts. Trained at La Tarumba (Lima), she is a graduate of the École Supérieure des Arts du Cirque (ESAC, Brussels) and the École de Recherche Graphique (ERG). She develops a hybrid practice rooted in her Andean cultural heritage, where the body becomes a territory of memory and transformation.
Her physical language — grounded in aerial rope and balance — engages with visual devices and expanded scenic contexts. She has collaborated with artists and collectives working across disciplines, including Rimini Protokoll, Laura Huertas Millán, Benjamin Loyauté, among others. Her performances have been presented in institutional contexts such as Nuit Blanche Paris (Église Saint-Eustache) and the Institut Giacometti, as well as street festivals across Europe: Gevleugelde Stad – Ieper (BE), Sortilèges – Ath (BE), Namur en Mai (be) and Kleinkunst Festival (DE).
Alongside her artistic practice, Laleshka pursues a reflection on transmission: she holds a Master’s degree in Visual Arts Education (ERG) and a teaching certification for upper secondary arts education (ERG / St Luc).
